NEW BURIAL FROM KYTAIV BARROW CEMETERY: DISCUSSING THE OLD RUS QUASI-CHAMBERS

In 2021, on the territory of second mound group Kytaiv Cemetery outskirts Kyiv authors discovered inhumation burial in a coffin placed wooden funeral chamber. Burials with structures made directly grave pit have been widespread Northern and Eastern Europe Viking Age are well known literature as chamber burials. Some modern researchers distinguish among early medieval burials category so-called «quasi-chambers» which similar to original tombs but differ from them certain important structural ritual elements. our opinion, complexes, combining walls «movable» coffin, one under discussion, should also be included into this category. They chambers by general semantics rite usually later chronologically. 1910s 1970s, assemblages were excavated first barrow cemetery.
 According goods newly can considered ordinary, over is smallest group. Thus, at least area coffins late 10th 11th centuries became mass phenomenon, losing elitist character inherent tombs. Compared latter design showing clear signs simplification.
